ANATOMIC by NYNKE TYNAGEL
€777 (incl VAT) FREE SHIPPING EU / REST OF WORLD €89
Anatomic is a wall tapestry and chair in one. It is designed by globally acclaimed Dutch artist Nynke Tynagel, referencing boardgames and anatomical prints from her childhood.
The design was translated by the textile pioneers of BYBORRE to an extremely rich 3D knit. Due to the complexity of the knit it took over 28 development rounds to get the fabric right. It is the most complex fabric BYBORRE ever produced - and presumably the most complex 3D knit ever made in this world.
The canvas of Anatomic depicts the internal workings of the human body in all its (guts and) glory. It invites for tactile exploration with details that endlessly unravel with every new glance.
Single purpose is a thing from the past, so Anatomic can be enjoyed as in- or outdoor seating, as well as a framed tapestry when hung on the included wall mount.
Made by hand in a limited numbered design edition of 600 pieces.

About Nynke Tynagel
Nynke's bold expressive and iconographic imagery, both heraldic and pop cartoonish, projects a strong narrative quality. Her visual fields are tightly conceived, carefully placed and contextualised into intense but harmonious compositions, presented in a range of crafts including stained-glass, ceramics, hand-painting, textile, marquetry, alongside laser and printing techniques.
The highly ornamented artwork often contains a dark and satirical content, a brave confrontation with the current attitudes and condition of the modern world.
Her work has been exhibited and collected by numerous museums, including MOMA, Museum Voorlinden, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Centraal Museum and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
